Woolley & Wallis were proud sponsors of the Avebury & District Ploughing Association’s annual ploughing match on Saturday 23rd September 2017.
The event was held at Galteemore Farm, Beckhampton, Marlborough Wiltshire courtesy of N Hues & Son.
Ploughmen who work on farms within 15 miles of Avebury may enter and qualify for the championship cups, using either conventional or reversible ploughs.
A fine and dry day saw a host of eager ploughmen and women together with a wide array of modern and traditional tractors with their various shapes and designs of plough descend on the farm. Spectators, sponsors and competitors saw top quality ploughing of fine chalk loam preparing the ground for planting of autumn arable crops.
