The nearby town of Gillingham (9.5 miles) provides a mainline railway station serving London Waterloo (2 hours) and Exeter St David. The area is known for its excellent range of state and private schools primary and secondary schools and an array of countryside pursuits including golf, shooting, horse riding, running and cycling clubs.
