Property Description

A well proportioned first floor flat with lift access providing sheltered accommodation for assisted retirement living.

The property forms part of Elizabeth Court which was built in 1996 by Bovis Retirement Homes to provide ‘very sheltered’ accommodation for residents who are over 65. There are 40 flats in all and it is a secure and supportive environment where the owners can participate if they wish in a variety of social events and there are also communal facilities which include well maintained gardens, a sitting room and games room, dining room and guest facilities. The residents can take up additional services from Elizabeth Court which include 3 course lunches, teas, laundry and additional house keeping assistance. There is also a Manager in addition to a team of housekeepers, one of whom is on site 24 hours a day. At night a housekeeper sleeps over and can always be contacted in an emergency by the alarm cord system or by telephone. There is also a team of housekeeping assistants under the direction of the housekeeper and they provide 1.5 hours of domestic help a week to every owner, as well as keeping all the communal areas clean and tidy. Although there is reassurance of assistance and help on hand, Elizabeth Court lends itself to independent living.

The property has well proportioned accommodation and is designed to be easily accessible and convenient to use even if someone becomes confined to a wheelchair. Careful attention has been paid to detail so that no steps or stairs have to be negotiated, sockets and switches are conveniently placed and flooring is chosen with safety and ease of movement in mind. There is a speech alarm cord system which is accessible in every room on both the individual apartments and communal areas. The property is double glazed and has a gas fired central heating system. It has recently been re-decorated and new flooring has been laid. The flat is on the first floor and can be reached via stairs or a lift.
